IBM 300GL

I Purchased an 1999 IBM 300GL from Italy!!!
Pentium III 500
15Gb HDD
64MB Ram
With lots of free dust

I love the old look of Beige PC cases, and when the opportunity came up to buy a IBM 300GL with the blue accents on, i jumped at the chance to buy one from Italy!

I started stripping out the insides and ended up with the following

Removed old motherboard Power Supply and cards (have kept them, may come in handy one day 🙂

and the upgrade begins..

Updates to the internals are

1: Rewired power switch and Hard disk LED (old power switch had 4 wires?) now updated to modern 2 wire cable

2:) Installed 2 x USB 3 ports on front bottom of case (see pic 17)
3:) Removed old Hard Drive and fan and speaker from front of case
4:) Installed new Noctua 80mm redux fan (sucking air out) in front of case
5:) Installed a 5.25 hot swap caddy (2 x SSD) in drive bay and 1 x 4TB drive
6:) Replaced Windows and Pentium sticker with NOS stickers
7:) Installed Corsair SP-450 PSU into original PSU bracket
8:) Gutted a 2001 CDRW drive and put in a hot swap caddy
9:) Installed a Blu-ray Drive Pioneer BDC-207D and modified bezel to beige
